PawPADs depends on volunteers to help accomplish the work of raising and training these amazing canines. We believe that it truly "takes a village" to raise a service dog! There are lots of ways to get involved.

Magic: The magic, for trainers, volunteers, and puppy petters to watch the light bulbs light up in a puppy's mind as they figure out how to open a door, turn on a light or go get help for their partner."

In the last year, volunteers have donated nearly three thousand hours of their valuable time doing things such as puppy care and feeding, socialization, facility remodeling, maintainence and lawn care, administrative work and date entry, and, of course, training!

For more information on volunteering at PawPADs, please e-mail us at: Volunteers@PawPADs.org

Volunteer applicants are considered without regard to race, sex, religion, creed, sexual orientation, ethnic origin or age.

I have volunteered with them for over a year, & wouldn't continue doing so if I didn't believe in them 1000%!!!" ~ Diane H.

Here is just a sampling of how you can be a part of our "village:"

Be a Volunteerteam

  • Print our "Needs List," then check with your neighbors, at garage sales, employers, family and friends and see if you can help meet those needs;
  • Be on our Week-end Puppy Raiser Team and help make a great partner out of our dogs by occasionally hosting them in your home for the weekend ;
  • Be a member of an AM or PM Canine Care Team, and help the dogs get ready for their day of learning;
  • Use your talent at the sewing machine to sew vests for the dogs and make repairs to their toys and other equipment;
  • Use your skills as a volunteer trainer to sharpen the dogs' into the best partners!

In-kind Donorpainter

In-kind donations are those made in goods and services rather than money and are just as valuable, if not more so, in some instances.

PawPADs is grateful for and happy to consider any offer of an in-kind donation. The most obvious one would be the services of a professional: Veterinarian services, Book keeping, Legal services, Grant writing, Carpentry, Painting, Plumbing, or any other trade for the repairing and maintenance of the PawPADs campus and the dogs.

In-kind donations such as kennels, dog food (ask us what our terrific canines eat), wheelchairs, puppies, office supplies and equipment: computers, desks, chairs, book cases, are very valuable to us!
